EV Tech Roadshow

Our Virtual Academy LIVE presents the EV Tech Roadshow
‘From skilled mech to EV tech’ – if you want to confidently work on all Hybrids and EV’s, want to acquire meaningful knowledge and not just a certificate, and perhaps electrics is not your strong point, then attending our four day ‘EV Tech’ course is for you.
Why four days?
Well, quite simply, there’s a lot to learn and learning takes time. The focus of this course is on learning, after all we want you to be able to do the job, not just pass an assessment. The march towards the UK’s electrification of the vehicle park is relentless and by receiving this industry leading training from the OVA LIVE team you’ll set up your career nicely for the motor industry’s biggest transition in 100 years.
We know that time away from the workshop is costly, but by attending our training you’ll reap the benefits in the long term. We never compromise on our educational standards.
Over four days, you will be fully immersed into the world of electrics – from the essential fundamentals through to the high voltage systems found on hybrid and electric vehicles. The time spent in the classroom will be kept to a minimum, whereas the time spent in the workshop, conducting practical activities and working on real cars, will be maximised through our unique learning techniques.
Not only will this learning experience provide successful candidates with an IMI Level 3 Award in Electric Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement (OFQUAL I.D 60314680) but it will also, and most importantly, give you the skills, knowledge, and confidence to undertake working on electrified vehicles.
EV Tech candidates will automatically be granted access to OurVirtualAcademy.com’s suite of EV and Hybrid training content for a full 3 months which covers off all of the IMI L3 elements and a great deal more. Candidates will not be ‘forced’ to watch this content however it will prove to be a very useful memory jogger once you’re back in your workshop and it also provides some excellent pre requisite training prior to attending the face to face training event too.

IMI Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement
QFQUAL I.D: 603/1468/0
The purpose and aim of IMI’s L3 Award is to provide experienced technicians with the skills and knowledge to work safely on and around Hybrid (HEV), Plug In Hybrid (PHEV) and Electric Vehicles (BEV).
This L3 qualification is designed to train a technician to work safely and competently on vehicles with a high voltage systems (e.g. Hybrid/ Electric Vehicles). In brief summary, a L3 trained technician will be able to safely de-energise a high voltage system (in line with following manufacturer guidance), and subsequently, work safely on the de-energised high voltage systems of the vehicle.
An IMI L3 Award is a formally recognised VRQ qualification (Vocationally Recognised Qualification). This VRQ provides recognition of the skills and competencies associated to the awarding body’s standards, and will stay with the successful candidate for life.
IMI Approved Centre

As an IMI Approved Centre, IMI regularly audit Our Virtual Academy to ensure we have all of the necessary arrangements and resources in place to ensure effective delivery, assessment and quality assurance of the various nationally recognised qualifications and accreditations we deliver. As part of the IMI’s ongoing monitoring, all members of our training and assessment team have to show occupational competence, prove their qualifications and maintain continuous professional development. Our Virtual Academy is very proud to be working in partnership with the IMI in raising the standards throughout the motor industry.
